« Neutrinos from supernovae and in binary neutron star mergers »

Cristina Volpe

We will review the recent progress in neutrino physics and in our understanding of flavor evolution in dense astrophysical environments, in particular core-collapse supernovae and binary neutron star mergers. We highlight the role of neutrino self-interactions on flavor conversion and what we might learn from future observations. We will discuss the connection to r-process nucleosynthesis and to the recent kilonova observation.
